Deep Time and the Dinosaur Renaissance
by bam
The dinosaur you learned as a child was a sluggish, tail-dragging swamp animal, and the people who taught you that were reading their evidence carefully. This course follows how the earth got old, who was allowed to say so, and how a field talked itself out of a picture it had held for fifty years. It ends on the end-Cretaceous extinction, where the argument is still running, because a course about revising beliefs that pretends the current picture is finished would be teaching the opposite of its own lesson.
